Ilian graduated from the Directing Documentary MA course at the NFTS in 2008. He is the director of Sofia’s Last Ambulance, a feature documentary nominated for the Camera d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. His feature film 3/4 (2017) received a Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival. Ilian has received over 45 awards for his work.
His films have been showcased at MoMA, New York, and been distributed on television and in theatres internationally.
