For our final event of 2021 we are thriled to be talking with Ed Foster, an NFTS alumni and creator of 'The rubbish world of Dave Spud' . Ed will be talking abaout his career, experience, giving his tips and advice for success and answering your questions.

In Conversation with Animation Director and Writer, Ed Foster

Animation Director and Writer, previously an NFTS Graduate and animation Tutor, Edward Foster works primarily in the field of series-based animation. Involved in all aspects of 2D animation production from initial ideas, script development, storyboards, animatics, voice records & sound mixes.

He has directed three series, a total of 102 episodes, including two half hour specials, of the BAFTA nominated pre-school show Little Princess, featuring a voice cast that includes Jane Horrocks, Julian Clary and Brian Blessed.

Ed’s latest series is The Rubbish World of Dave Spud, which he has also directed and written multiple episodes of. It is an animated TV series for CITV released in September 2019, based on Ed’s original idea (NFTS graduation film). The Rubbish World of Dave Spud follows the misadventures of underdog Dave Spud, voiced by Johnny Vegas, and his family, as they embark on some extraordinary expeditions along with the likes of Gareth the Starfish and the one-eyed-flea-ridden Fuzzypeg the dog. Other members of the voice cast include talents such as Philip Glenister, Arthur Smith, Lisa Hammond, Jane Horrocks, and Gina Yashere. Brit Award-winning electronic music duo Basement Jaxx (Felix Burton and Simon Ratcliffe) have created the music and soundtrack to the series.
