About Matthew

Matthew Bibby is a recent NFTS graduate currently working his way into the development world of Television entertainment.

Matthew's undergraduate degree was in creative writing and film studies, and it was a film studies tutor that recommended he try applying for the National Film and Television school.  He was accepted onto the Directing and Producing Television Entertainment course and once he was accepted he went on the search for extra credits as a runner to prepare for the course.  His first runner jobs were working on shows like ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ and John Bishop’s ‘Back of the Net’ on Amazon Prime,  When Matthew started at the NFTS he wasn't sure which area of Television Entertainment he wanted to get into, but the course allowed him to try out multiple genres, such as gameshow, comedy drama, live magazine formats and factual entertainment.

Having now graduated from the NFTS and is currently working at Studio Lambert on their Development Scheme. Studio Lambert is one of the country’s largest independent Television Companies with shows under its belt like, ‘Gogglebox, Four in a Bed, Race Across the World’ and the recently announced ‘Squid Game: The Challenge’. Studio Lambert’s providing Matthew with the opportunity to work on productions all around the country and abroad, in the production office and with the development team, all whilst being mentored by a development producer to help secure him in development role, whether at Studio Lambert or another production company.

Matthew and I will discuss his journey to the NFTS, his experience since graduating, what he has learned, focusing on his tips and advice for getting into this area of the industry, along with the role of Director and Producer of TV Entertainment
