Still from Belle

Amma Asante says: “I am deeply honoured to be recognised by the NFTS - a film school that has so consistently delivered incredible talent to the film industry whose work both inspires and challenges me as a fellow filmmaker. It’s a privilege to be joining the Honorary Fellows of the school, individuals that I hold in tremendous esteem.  I’m looking forward to a wonderful morning celebrating all those who will be graduating and to my formal association with the school.”

Still from A United Kingdom

Patrick McKenna, NFTS Chairman says: “It’s an absolute pleasure to award Amma an Honorary NFTS Fellowship. She is in great company with the likes of Asif Kapadia, David Lean CBE, Ken Loach, Barbara Broccoli, Lynne Ramsay and Sir Alan Parker already named as Fellows. It’s important to us to recognise key figures who have made outstanding contributions to the industry and Amma is a fantastic addition.”

NFTS Scotland, the Scottish hub of the NFTS, is sponsoring Amma’s Industry Spotlight session hosted by Screen International at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival, which takes place between the 27th February until the 1st March.
