Once again, NFTS has more nominations than any other institution in this year’s Royal Television Society (RTS) Student Television Awards. NFTS grads are nominated in the following categories: ‘Postgraduate Drama’ for Dead Birds directed by Johnny Kenton and produced by Sabina Smitham; ‘Postgraduate Factual’ for Fake News Fairytale directed by Kate Stonehill; ‘Postgraduate Short Form ‘for Hold Still directed by Alexandra Brodski and produced by Nikita Leibovici and ‘Postgraduate Comedy & Entertainment’ for Control Directed by Webster Mugavazi and Produced by Robin Pagnanelli.

Dead Birds: A teenage badminton failure at a Catholic girls school goes to extreme lengths to win the inter-school cup. Dead Birds is a wild supernatural black comedy about competitive mother-daughter relationships, competitive badminton and how far you’d go to get what your heart most desires.
