The National Film and Television School (NFTS) announces that it has been chosen as the European film school partner for leading VFX software company, Boris FX, which develops leading edge plug-in tools to create the highest quality visual effects available in the industry today.

As part of the partnership, Boris FX is donating 300 licences to the School, which will enable all NFTS students to have access to its award-winning product line — ContinuumSapphire, and Mocha. The creative VFX and workflow tools will be an integral to many NFTS courses including the School’s Digital Effects MA; Games Design and Development MA; Editing MA and Diploma in Graphics and Titles for Film and Television.

NFTS will be one of only three film schools in the world with this level of access to Boris FX software and will sit alongside a School in Asia and in the Americas.

John Rowe, NFTS Head of Digital Effects said: “We are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with Boris FX who have supported us since we began teaching VFX in 2005. This formal relationship and the fantastic donation of 300 licenses will enable our students to learn their craft using the very latest, industry standard software.”

Boris Yamnitsky, Boris FX CEO said: “We chose the prestigious National Film and Television School as our European film school partner because they focus on postgraduate education and on producing high-level career ready graduates, which the VFX industry is crying out for. The partnership is part of our ongoing education programme and desire to support the next generation of talent and the industry as a whole by ensuring there are enough highly trained professionals to fill the many jobs available.”
