NFTS Games Grad Wins ‘Women In Games Rising Star’ Award

NFTS Games Design and Development MA graduate, Daisy Fernandez, has won the Rising Star - Development Award at this year’s MCV Women in Games Awards, which rewards and recognises the hard work, achievements and outstanding talent of women in the UK games industry.

The event took place on Friday 28th June at Facebook UK and the awards were judged by some of the most influential and knowledgeable figures in the UK games industry including UI/UX Designer at Hutch, Anisa Sanusi, founder and MD of Indigo Pearl, a PR and digital services agency in the Gaming and Entertainment technology sector, Caroline Miller and UKIE CEO, Dr Jo Twist OBE.

Soon after graduating, Daisy secured her first job in the industry as Game Designer and Generalist at games development company, State of Play. Read her story here.

Daisy is not the first NFTS Games Design and Development MA graduate to win awards at the MCV Women in Games Awards. In 2017, Naomi Kotler won the Breakthrough Talent Award and Laura Dodds was nominated for the same award in 2018. Naomi is working as a Games Designer at Supermassive Games and Laura is working as Senior Artist at The Chinese Room Ltd.
