Lynda Myles, NFTS Head of Fiction said: “I firmly believe that in the future Nick will be recognised as one of the most exciting directors working in television drama. There is an epic quality to his work which makes it stand out from his peers. His work is ambitious, highly energetic and above all, fearless.”

Writer and Producer, Neil Cross said: “Nick Rowland was the second block director on my forthcoming BBC thriller, Hard Sun, which can't have been an easy train to board. Not only was Nick by some margin the best young director I've ever worked with, he's one of the best directors I've ever worked with period. I've been telling everyone on the production that in ten years we'll all be boasting about having once worked with him. Meanwhile, I can think of no better or more honest recommendation than to say that the selfish part of me wishes I could keep him to myself. The more practical side would be thrilled at the prospect of working with him again.”

Will Gould – Head of Drama, Tiger Aspect said: Will Gould – Co-Managing Director, Tiger Aspect said: “I first met Nick before he graduated, and from that moment I knew I had to work with him. He did an amazing job for me over the following year, directing some hugely accomplished and ambitious hours of television. Perhaps the highest praise I can bestow on Nick is that at no point did I think of him as a ‘break through director’. He was experienced and assured from the start. He is the full package: ambitious, collaborative and visionary, and he undoubtedly has a stunning future ahead of him.”
