NFTS Television Diploma alumnus Michael Altman celebrated an exciting evening at the Daytime Emmy Awards with The Ellen DeGeneres Show team who won their seventh ‘Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show’ award. Michael has produced over 150 episodes of the television variety comedy talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, since 2017.

The annual awards show, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, honours the best in American daytime television programming. This year's ceremony was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California with Extra’s Mario Lopez and The Talk‘s Sheryl Underwood taking on hosting duties. The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast from 2.00am – 6.00pm.

Other nominees in the ‘Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show’ category include ‘A Little Help with Carol Burnett’, ‘The Real’, ‘The Talk’ and ‘The View’.  The Ellen DeGeneres Show has won 59 Daytime Emmy Awards, including four for Outstanding Talk Show and six for Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment, surpassing the record held by The Oprah Winfrey Show, which won nine.
