Huge congratulations to NFTS graduates who picked up a record 13 nominations at the 2020 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Television Craft Awards. The awards showcase the very best in television craft and television programmes broadcast in the UK in 2019.

The incredible number of NFTS alumni shortlisted once again highlights the enormous impact our graduates make to the screen industry with nominees across five key categories; Breakthrough Talent, Sound, Directing, Cinematography and Production Design. The work of NFTS graduates spans multiple genres from a range of broadcasters including Pure, Chernobyl, Sex Education, Killing Eve, The Crown, Brexit: The Uncivil War, His Dark Materials, A Christmas Carol, Elizabeth is Missing and Derry Girls

Winners of the 2020 British Academy Television Craft Awards will be revealed on Friday 17 July by Stephen Mangan via BAFTA’s social channels including YouTube. The Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards will place on Friday 31 July hosted by Richard Ayoade on BBC One from a closed studio, with nominees invited to accept their awards virtually.

Over 80% of all high end television has an NFTS graduate in a key role. No other single education institution or scheme can point to a record of accomplishment that has delivered talent and skills for the industry on the scale of the NFTS.
