The NFTS is thrilled to have secured a place within Variety’s Top Film Schools Entertainment Education Impact Report 2020, the only UK film School included in the listing and one of only ten from outside the US!

Cultivating their annual list during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which has forced the temporary closure of colleges, universities, film and digital arts programs worldwide, Variety praised the implementation of remote learning techniques by Schools such as the NFTS and noted: “Now, more than ever, it’s a time for creativity to reign supreme, a time for artistry to thrive and a time for aspiring filmmakers of stripes and solids—be it screenwriters or directors—to harness this time of solitude and draft what could become the blockbusters, TV series and indie films of tomorrow. Not only are these film schools prepping their students for successful careers in the entertainment biz, but they are guiding them with structure and encouragement and artistic expertise through one of the most turbulent eras in modern-day society.”

Jon Wardle, NFTS Director commented: “We are absolutely delighted that Variety has recognised the NFTS as one of the world’s top film schools. Our success is totally disproportionate to our small size and I couldn’t be prouder of what the School continues to achieve on the world stage, it really is a very special place. In recent weeks, we’ve all had to adapt to a new normal whilst studying and teaching remotely and we have pulled out all the stops to ensure NFTS students are kept motivated and their learning experience enhanced.”
