Col Spector, The Documentary Consultant, has been helping filmmakers transform their documentary ideas from So-What to So-Good for over the last 5 years. His one-to-one consultancy service www.thedocumentaryconsultant.com is dedicated to giving filmmakers the tools to make original and distinctive documentaries that engage emotionally with an audience and sell.

In this intensive 3 day session he will go over his principles for testing and developing a killer documentary idea. This involves first checking the potential of the participants’ documentary ideas to be emotionally engaging films, and then developing these ideas into fully fleshed-out, inspiring documentary treatments - ready to go out and be made. The course will end with the participants being given the chance to present their documentary ideas to an industry professional for evaluation and feedback.

It is advised that you come to the course with at least one documentary idea you would like to test and develop.

Col Spector has made docs for Channel 4, BBC and Discovery, written & directed two feature films, and runs his own documentary consultancy business
