Short course

Overview

*Please note that this is a three-hour seminar, not a short training course*

During this seminar, Intimacy Coordinator, Ita O'Brien will introduce all industry professionals (i.e producers, directors, actors, stage managers, assistant directors, company managers, designers, creatives and crew) to best practice approaches to intimacy, simulated sex scenes, and nudity. It will also be an opportunity to discuss how intimacy affects each role on a production and how to work together to create a safe space.

For the last five years Ita O'Brien has been developing best practice when working with intimacy, scenes with sexual content, and nudity in film, TV, and theatre - the 'Intimacy on Set' guidelines. Ita pioneered the role of Intimacy Coordinator, which is gaining adoption in leading production houses, including HBO, Netflix, and the BBC.

Ita has recently featured in the press discussing safe sex on set and the rise of intimacy coaches in the screen industries

This event is delivered in partnership with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
