NFTS Graphics Student Creates Udderly Amazing Glastonbury Infographic!

NFTS Motion Graphics and Titles Diploma student, Ellie Rimell has created a moo-verllous infographic and tribute to the cows who live at Worthy Farm, the site of the famous Glastonbury festival, which takes place from the 26th to the 30th June this year. We caught up with her to find out why she chose to focus on the bovine residents for her project.

Following a rousing showing of Beats - set around the mid 90s Scottish rave scene, at a volume pre-set by the director to ensure the audience enjoyed the dance anthems to their fullest extent, NFTS students were treated to a masterclass with the film’s director and co-writer, Brian Welsh and producer Camilla Bray.

Multi BAFTA winning writer-director Sally Wainwright and BAFTA winning editor, NFTS Head of Editing, Richard Cox discuss making hit series Gentleman Jack

NFTS students were treated to an inspirational day with Sally Wainwright – the multi BAFTA winning writer-director and creator of hugely acclaimed TV dramas including Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax and Scott & Bailey. She spent the afternoon with fiction directing students and then gave a Masterclass to the whole school on her latest hit series, Gentleman Jack.  She was joined for the Masterclass by BAFTA winning NFTS head of Editing, Richard Cox, who edited the episodes Sally directed. Richard also edited Sally’s acclaimed single drama about the Brontes, To Walk Invisible and the episodes she directed of Happy Valley.

Oscar winning writer-director Pawel Pawlikowski recently spent the day at the NFTS, inspiring students in three great sessions – a morning with the documentary students hosted by NFTS head of Documentary, Peter Dale; an afternoon with the screenwriting and fiction directing students and an evening Masterclass for the whole school - both hosted by co-head of Directing Fiction, Brian Gilbert.
