Games Design & Development MA Sets the Bar with Award-Winning Year

Students and recent graduates of our Games Design and Development MA have had a fantastic year, winning awards and critical acclaim in the press.

From recent graduate, Naomi Kotler, winning the Breakthrough Talent Award at the 2017 Women in Games Awards, which rewards and recognises the contribution of women in the UK games industry to the students winning first prize at the UKIE Game Jam, this year has certainly been one to remember!

If that wasn’t enough, 'Falling Sky', a graduation game developed by current student, Jonathan Nielssen has been featured as one of The Guardian's 12 Favourite Games at EGX, the UK's biggest video games event. According to the article: "The projects brought to EGX by students at the National Film and Television School are always fascinating, but this year one stood out as particularly impressive".

The Games MA also boasts one VR head set per student and two students, Daisy Fernandez and Joel Marshall have been awarded prestigious scholarships from BAFTA to allow them to enrol on the course.

If this has piqued your interest, watch the video below to hear more from Head of Games, Alan Thorn plus students, Evy Benita, Tim Kaufmann, Sam Rowett and Johnathan Nielssen talk about their experience on the course so far.

There are still a last few places remaining on the course, which starts in January 2018. To apply, please visit www.nfts.co.uk/games
