An Insight Into the NFTS Marketing & Distribution MA by Current Student, Alex Chronopolous

We caught up with NFTS Marketing, Distribution, Sales and Exhibition MA student, Alex Chronopoulos to find out how he’s getting on after starting at the NFTS in January.

Alex: “Over the last few years, I worked as a video editor and then as a creative producer for various television stations including, 'Star Channel,' and 'Mega Channel.' In 2014, I slightly changed my career and started to work as a sales and marketing specialist in international marketing and advertising. In this role, I had the chance to collaborate exclusively with clients such as 'Nestle,' ‘Samsung,' 'Dell,' and 'Mondelez International.'”

“It seems like it was only yesterday that I started my application for the new Masters course in Marketing, Distribution, Sales, and Exhibition (MDSE) at the NFTS. I still remember how excited I was, since it was the combination of my background and my passion for the entertainment world.”

“Over the past few months, it's been an incredible honour for me to be a member of the NFTS community. Through my course, I have gained insight and knowledge in all the aspects of entertainment, with a perfect balance between theory and practice. After a lot of case studies, workshops, real projects and valuable face-to-face meetings with the industry, such as BFI, The Walt Disney Company, Odeon, Channel 4, Screen International, Blue-Zoo Animation Studio, Curzon Cinemas and Picturehouse. The MDSE course has given me a very succinct and clear view on how to build and deliver a project into the market in the most professional way. At this point, I would love to thank my Head of Department Debbie Rowland for her continued support and inspiration that she has given to us all.”

“This summer, I completed a work placement with Universal Pictures International. I worked with the UK and Eire Theatrical and Marketing team, helping them with the campaigns for the following films: ‘Atomic Blonde,’ ‘American Made,’ ‘Perfect Pitch 3’, ‘The Snowman.’ I'm incredibly thankful to everyone from my team for the opportunities that they have given me to develop my knowledge and to contribute my ideas to their film releases.”
