Huge congratulations to NFTS Directing Documentary MA graduate, Stephen Bennett who has won a Scottish BAFTA in the ‘Best Features & Factual Series’ category in his capacity as director/ producer on three part series, The Council. Stephen shares the award with his production colleagues, Elspeth O’Hare and Jennifer Gilroy. This is Stephen’s third BAFTA Scotland award; he also won in 2016 for Dunblane: Our Story and in 2011 for 'Best Current Affairs' with Walking Wounded. The ceremony took place on Sunday 5th November at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu Hotel and was hosted by Edith Bowman.

T2 Trainspotting, which credits NFTS Production Design MA graduate, Elo Soode as Concept Artist and Production Sound graduate, Linda Brenon as Foley Editor, was the night’s biggest winner, picking up three awards in all the categories in which it was nominated: Ewen Bremner for ‘Actor Film’, Danny Boyle for ‘Director – Fiction’ and for ‘Feature Film’.

With NFTS Scotland due to accept applications early 2018 and open in April 2018, we are particularly excited about any NFTS graduate work north of the border so it’s a pleasure to celebrate yet more NFTS related Scottish success!
