Why become a Production Accountant?

There has been a huge increase in UK Film and Television productions over recent years and we need more Production Accountants to help our industry continue to grow.

With more exciting Production Accounting opportunities than ever, it’s the perfect time to begin an exciting new career in Film and Television.

What Does a Production Accountant Do?

“You never know what the day is going to bring.”

Eryn Walker, Production Accountant

Across the industry, Production Accountants calculate finances, work out the cost of a production, communicate with financiers and control the cash flow or spending. It is an important role that requires a level head, self-confidence and strong communication skills.

Every job is different. Small-scale production to major budget, international location or on home turf, you’ll find new challenges and new rewards with each post as you develop your skills.

What Does the Introduction to Production Accounting Cover?

Touching on topics like budgets, development and post production costs, locations and legal issues, participants will gain a good overview of the production process and the Production Accountant’s role, responsibilities and relationships within it.

What Happens Afterwards?

Depending on your experience, you might want to jump straight into the industry, and we may be able to help you find employment.

Or you might decide to apply for our Diploma in Production Accounting for Film & Television
