Overview

This course will give you a thorough working knowledge of how to use Movie Magic Budgeting. It is aimed at those looking to transform their producing skills by learning how to use this product to its full potential.

 

Participants will have individual, hands-on access to the computers throughout the course.

 

The course covers, among other things:
• Selecting a format for your budget
• Entering your budget data
• Navigating the Top Sheet, Account and Detail levels
• Fringes
• Using sub-groups
• Coping with foreign currencies
• Amending your budget
• Redrafting your budget
• Printing from MM

About the Tutor:

Former Head of Production, Addie Orfila has over 22 years’ experience within TV and short film production. Starting as a trainee continuity announcer and then runner at ITV Yorkshire, Addie has worked her way up as 3rd AD, 1st AD, PM and Head of Production.  She has worked on all four of the big UK serial dramas and was HoP at Hollyoaks and Production Manager at Coronation Street for very successful tenures.  Having worked on shows such as HeartbeatTouch of Frost, Countdown, My Parents are Aliens, Emmerdale, Barking and Jinx, Addie has a large wealth of experience to draw from, is a mentor for Women in Film and Television, was a member of Channel 4’s Mentoring Diversity Network as well as trainer on the pan-industry Project Diamond Diversity monitoring scheme. When not delivering industry training she is also an Associate Lecturer at the Northern Film School. Addie designed and is currently delivering the Leadership Essentials course nationwide for HETV Drama Heads of Department on behalf of ScreenSkills, worked as a Production Executive for the BBC and works with Lavender Pictures, as a Production Executive, helping develop their slate of content.
