*If you are booking travel and accommodation to attend this course, please contact us in advance to advise us, and book flexibly where possible as we are unable to cover the cost of additional expenses in the event of a course cancellation.*

This 5 day course will develop your skills and confidence in editing factual content through practice and feedback in a supported learning environment.

As well as editing practice, you will be introduced to a range of UK television factual, critically review content and apply what they learn to your own practice.

You will examine the culture of the factual cutting room and be introduced to the strategies required to build a sustainable career as an editor within the current TV industry.

This course is led by Thérèse Lynch, an Avid editor with many years’ staff and freelance experience, specialising in storytelling and structure. Her experience crosses genres including long-form factual, magazine/formatted factual, children's TV (CBBC and Cbeebies), current affairs, entertainment, music, drama and news.

Previous course participants said:

'Have been really happy with the course and would highly recommend it.'
'This was a fantastic course. Therese Lynch was very thorough, knowledgeable, kind and supportive and I am very confident that this course will help further my editing career in the long run.'
'It makes you think more about how something is constructed and what the editor might have had to deal with in the raw footage in order to bring it all together.'

This course requires that you are able to operate Avid Media Composer to edit, as the course focuses on the craft of editing, not the practicalities. If you do not have knowledge of this platform, please consider taking our Avid Media Composer Familiarisation course prior to taking this course.
