Overview
This course prepares you to work in the Film and TV Make-up department. Led by Christine Cant, a multi-award winning Make-up Designer, who has worked on shows such as Father Ted, Absolutely Fabulous, The Mighty Boosh and Brass Eye, this course gives you insights into the roles, practices and principles of this dynamic and creative department and how it interacts with the Costume department. The course takes any existing make-up knowledge and experience you have and gives you what you need to be ‘Set Ready’ for work specifically in film and TV. Please note that this is a class-room based course and not a practical Make-up course. There is not any designing or application element to the course. It covers script breakdown, the work involved in pre-production and preparing to shoot, how the make-up department operates on set, how to enter the make-up department and the materials and skills you need in the various roles. You will also have the opportunity to learn how the Make-up department interacts with the Costume department. This course is for anyone who wishes to work in the film and TV make-up department and those with some experience wishing to gain further knowledge and insights. It is also suitable for people with make-up experience gained in other sectors wishing to apply it in the screen industries.
