Access NFTS is the Outreach and Inclusion programme from the National Film and Television School. The programme is designed and delivered to encourage and support people wanting to follow a career path into our industry.
Whether you are already interested in film, TV and games, or you haven’t yet discovered the world of opportunities behind the camera — we want to work with you!

Access NFTS is designed to increase opportunities and access for the next generation of film, TV and games creatives. We also support work which improves diversity and inclusion within the NFTS community.
The programmes we offer are continually evaluated to meet the following objectives:
- Raise aspirations of those interested in the film, TV and games industry
- Increase knowledge of careers, and their relevant pathways, within the industry
- Teach and develop skills relevant to the film, TV and games industry
- Enhance awareness of financial, mental health, disability and general student support available within the NFTS and wider industry
- Increase awareness of the NFTS
- Widen participation and diversity of engagement, applications, and intake at the NFTS
- Improve knowledge of the accessibility of Higher Education/Film School, as well as the inclusivity of the film, TV and games industry overall
These events are introductory sessions for anyone wanting to discover more about the wide range of potential career opportunities behind the camera.

ENGAGE
Experience: Entry Level | Duration: 2 hours | Capacity: 60 pax | Cost: FREE
These visits include a campus and facilities tour, film screening, Q&A panel and industry overview. Attendees will meet current students working toward their chosen careers, and get to see some of their work on the big screen.
INFORM
Experience: Entry Level | Duration: 5 hours | Capacity: 25 pax | Cost: FREE
These visits include a campus and facilities tour, career overview, plus hands-on workshops designed and delivered by current NFTS students. Each workshop has a different theme and aims to develop skills and knowledge in different career areas. Workshop areas are subject to availability, and will be confirmed before each event.
INSPIRE
Experience: Entry Level | Duration: 1-2 Days | Capacity: 30 pax | Cost: FREE
A real crash course, these events are hands-on and intensive. Attendees will work with NFTS students and other ‘crew’ to complete a practical project within a specific career area or role. They will not only leave with knowledge, experience, skills and industry contacts, but with a copy of the work they produced to add to their showreel or portfolio.
INSIGHT
Location: Online | Experience: Entry Level | Duration: 1 Hour | Cost: FREE
We want to meet with as many people as possible, but as a small team we can't get to everyone!
These online sessions are designed to both inform about creative careers behind the camera, and give you the opportunity to ask our students any related questions you have about our industry, our careers, or our school.
These informed sessions each focus on a different career area, with a different guest each sessions talking to our Head of Outreach about their pathway and experience.
TALKING HEADS
Location: Online | Experience: Entry Level | Duration: 1-2 Hours | Cost: FREE
Our Heads of Department at the NFTS are some of the most talented and respected creatives in the film, TV and games industry - and they want to meet you !
Bringing with them decades of knowledge and experience, these exclusive and intimate sessions allow our experts to share their wisdom and for you to ask your own burning questions. They will be covering anything from the basic mechanics of their roles, to what they see a the future of their industry and sharing their tips and advice about getting started.

Travel bursaries may be available for all on set events If finance/travel creates a barrier for attendance, please contact us to discuss further.
The Access NFTS: Regional Tours showcase different career areas with several presentations and interactive workshops on offer.
For these events we work in collaboration with our NFTS hubs, which are located across the UK in Cardiff, Glasgow, and Leeds.
Experience: Entry Level | Duration: 1-2 Days | Cost: FREE
With events running over multiple days, we offer programs to local universities, colleges or community organisations that work with people interested in the film, TV and games industry. These FREE sessions run anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours in length depending on the venue, subject matter and numbers of attendees involved.
We also run public events in a central location, open for anyone and everyone to attend.
