The NFTS is about 25 miles west of London in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, just off the M40.

BY TRAIN From London

There is a regular train service from London Marylebone Station, which is served by the Bakerloo underground line. Trains run every 20-30 minutes and the journey to Beaconsfield takes about 30-40 minutes. Beaconsfield also has a rail link with Birmingham. On arrival at Beaconsfield Station, turn left onto Station Road and continue past the shops into a residential area. After a short walk, you will see Candlemas Lane on your left, with a small duck pond visible on the opposite side of the road. Walk down Candlemas Lane and you will see the NFTS entrance on the right hand side. There is also a minicab firm at the station. View timetable.


From the M40, exit Junction 2, towards Beaconsfield. At the next roundabout, turn left towards Beaconsfield (A40). Go straight across the next (small) roundabout (A40). You are now entering Beaconsfield Old Town. Turn right at the next (large) roundabout towards Beaconsfield New Town, Penn and Hazlemere. The NFTS entrance is on the right, after about 1/2 mile.

A number of parking spaces are available for visitors, including some spaces for disabled drivers. All visitor parking must be arranged in advance through the department you are visiting.


Take the A40 Bus that departs at 40 minutes past the hour from Heathrow Central Bus Station. Ask to be put off at the Saracen’s Head pub in Beaconsfield Old Town (on the corner of London End and Windsor End roads) The return bus leaves Beaconsfield for Heathrow at 21 minutes past the hour from opposite the Saracen’s Head.
