Kickstart Your Career In Casting and attend our Free April Taster Sessions

There is an art to Casting: it is an essential and often unrecognised element of all film, television and theatre productions. It is also one of the least understood jobs in the industry, largely because it is conducted behind closed doors.



Casting Directors and their associates need a wide range of skills at their disposal; an encyclopaedic knowledge of actors, instinct about which actors would be best for a role, and the ability to articulate and demonstrate the reasons why. Keen observation and organisational skills are essential to becoming successful in this field.

If you’d like to find out more about a career in Casting, register your interest for two upcoming Taster Sessions in London that will give you invaluable insights into the role and the ways to embark on a career in Casting. You’ll hear from those currently working as a Casting Director and will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions in a informal and interactive sessions that will include the following and much much more:

Casting Taster Day Dates and Locations:

Timings: 6.00pm – 9.00pm

Once you have submitted your booking, you will be informed by email as to whether you have secured a place on your chosen taster day. Due to extremely high demand, we cannot guarantee that all applications will be successful. If you are not successful in securing a place, we will place you on a waiting list and you will be informed if a place becomes available.

Applications to join the next intake of the Casting Certificate, which is supported by the CDG (The Casting Directors' Guild of Great Britain & Ireland) are currently open until 18th May, with the next intake joining in September 2023. The course is delivered weekly online, with occasional sessions run from the NFTS’s central London base in Golden Square, Soho.
