Record Number of NFTS Films Shortlisted for 2023 BAFTA Student Awards

A record ten National Film and Television School productions, including two games, have been shortlisted for the 2023 Yugo BAFTA Student Awards in Los Angeles, with the School receiving twice as many nominations than any other film school in the world from a total of 754 submissions!

The three animations, three documentaries, two fiction films and two games were made at the National Film and Television School by our students, the culmination of their intensive one to two years of training across specialisms including directing, composing, location sound recording, games design, visual effects and more.

The Yugo BAFTA Student Awards is an annual event celebrating the works of the next generation of highly skilled and creative storytellers from around the world, and the School is incredibly proud to see so many of our graduation productions being recognised by these prestigious awards. We look forward to 7 July when the finalists will be announced!

Beneath The Woods

Synopsis

A stylised, narrative-focused mystery/horror/puzzle game set in the fictional small town of Redscott Pines, Oregan. The story follows Davis, who returns to his hometown to search for his missing sister (Mina). He hasn't been back since he ran away 2 years earlier. With help from the people closest to Mina, he follows the trail to a church in the woods, and uncovers the secrets lurking beneath...

Eros Xavier’s Love Solutions

Synopsis

Eros Xavier's Love Solutions is 2.5D narrative driven puzzle-like game. Play as Eros, a retired cupid who breaks couples apart instead of bringing them together by manipulating objects in their home. How many hearts can you break?

Tree Of Many Faces

Synopsis
