Introduction to Storyboarding for Film and TV

This brand new course will take participants through the process of creating a storyboard from a script and is aimed at anyone who is looking to develop their skills as a storyboard artist.

The day will cover the essential elements of visually communicating a script or creative brief, with a particular emphasis on understanding the language directors use and applying it effectively. There will be plenty of examples of existing storyboards plus some live drawing by course tutor Sav Akyuz. Sav is one of the UK’s most experienced and well regarded storyboard artists, working predominantly in commercials for over 20 years. His favourite job during that time was the heart-warming 2013 John Lewis Xmas advert ‘Bear and the Hare’ and lists the likes of Dougal Wilson, Terry Gilliam, Tarsem, Tom Hooper and Harry Bradbeer on his credits list.

A limited number of bursaries are available for all of our short courses. If you wish to apply for a bursary to contribute to the costs of your course, please read the bursary guidelines below carefully to confirm your eligibility. Please do not apply to a course unless you are sure you meet the bursary eligibility criteria, or if you are able to pay for the course by other means.

Please apply as far in advance of the course date as possible to give yourself the best chance of securing a supported place as we may not be able to accommodate all applications. We aim to advise successful applicants no later than 10 working days prior to the course start date.
