I studied Anthropology and International Relations at university, but my focus was always on the film industry - initially through colour grading, until I got more involved in the university’s filmmaking society and realised quite how much I enjoyed both cinematography and being on-set. While studying, I worked on a mix of short films, corporate shoots, and low-budget projects, eventually joining a production company in Aberdeen after graduating. After about a year, I moved to Edinburgh, where I’ve since been working as an in-house DoP at a local production company.

Some of the projects I’ve been lucky to shoot include content for Irn Bru, Johnnie Walker Princes Street, and more recently, a Scottish Government road safety campaign. I’ve also worked on various shorts and passion projects and had the chance to collaborate with some incredibly talented crew, along with more specialised kit (like motion control rigs, process trailers, and tracking vehicles).

Over the past few years, I’m confident that I’ve been able to consistently improve my technical and creative abilities, which has been really satisfying, but there’s of course so much to learn – which is one of the reasons I’m excited about the talent lab.
