Ryan Pollock is a writer, director, occasional athlete, and former senior twilight stock replacer from Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. His films have been shown at the National Gallery of Scotland, the House of Lords, and loads of other places. Bluebird, his graduation film from the MA Filmmaking course at UWS, won the Latimer award at the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture’s 197th Annual Exhibition, making him one of the youngest ever awardees.
He is a fan of Captain Beefheart, Johnny Cash, Bill Shankly, Franz Kafka, Lynne Ramsay, John Cassavetes, Lou Reed, Spike Milligan, Terence Davies, Brian Clough, John Coltrane, Harry Dean Stanton, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Barbara Loden, Fred Neil, Primo Levi, Bill Douglas, Peter McDougall, Iggy Pop, Harold Pinter, Joseph Conrad, Lightnin’ Hopkins, The Beatles, and around three or four other things.
