Sam’s graduation project Piece By Piece had a successful awards run, including being selected for the 2021 Edinburgh Short Film Festival. Sam also works in the industry as an assistant editor, with previous credits for STV Studios’ Antiques Road Trip (BBC One) and an adaptation of The Curious Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (later broadcast on Sky Arts). He has also served as a film editing lecturer and teaching assistant for both Screen Academy Scotland and Screen Education Edinburgh.

He was featured in Screen Scotland’s documentary short Working Differently, a doc that promotes awareness of difficulties faced by neurodivergent filmmakers within Scotland. As a part of the talent lab, Sam wants to create and champion stores that promote diversity, and often underrepresented aspects of life on screen. Working Differently was screened at the 2024 ReelAbilities Film Festival in New York City.
