Caroline Silver Appointed As New Chair of NFTS Audit Committee
The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Caroline Silver as the new Chair of the School's Audit Committee. Following an extensive search, Caroline will succeed All3Media’s Sara Geater in this pivotal role.
As Chair of the Audit Committee, Caroline will assume a crucial position overseeing all aspects of the Committee's work, ensuring the effective management of its affairs and that it operates with utmost efficiency and organisation.
"Caroline's passion for the UK's cultural sector was apparent throughout the selection process, making her the perfect fit for this key role within the School,” commented Sophie Turner Laing, Chair of the National Film and Television School.
“Her impressive track record in the financial and commercial worlds, combined with her deep understanding and appreciation for the arts and creative industries convinced the board that she would bring her own unique perspective to the role. Caroline will be integral to consolidating the School’s global status as a centre of excellence for film television and games education.”
Caroline brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the NFTS. She is currently chair of FTSE-100 group Barratt Developments plc and prior to that was Chair of PZ Cussons PLC. She spent eight years on the Board of the V&A Museum, where she chaired the Finance and Investment committees. She also chaired the Audit committee of the London Ambulance Service for nine years. With a background in investment banking, Caroline has for the past 15 years been included in the FN100, an annual list by Financial News that highlights the top 100 influential women in finance across Europe.
Additionally, Caroline currently holds positions as a non-executive director of Tesco PLC and BUPA, is on the board of the V&A Foundation and is a member of Adobe, Inc’s international advisory board. Caroline spent over 30 years in the investment banking sector where she held senior corporate finance and merger and acquisitions positions at Morgan Stanley, Bank of America/ Merrill Lynch and most recently Moelis & Company, having started her career as a Chartered Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

With her remarkable track record and extensive involvement across a number of commercial, financial, investment banking, governance and board leadership roles, Caroline is poised to play a vital role in advancing the National Film and Television School’s mission of fostering new talent, widening participation, enhancing teaching excellence, developing strong industry partnerships and shaping future practice.
