Three NFTS Productions Selected As Yugo BAFTA Student Award Finalists!

The National Film and Television School is excited to announce three productions made by our students have been named finalists for the 2023 Yugo BAFTA Student Awards!

From the record-breaking ten NFTS productions that were nominated for this years’ awards, animation The Tornado Outside, documentary Happy and game Eros Xavier’s Love Solutions are the outstanding projects that will screen in New York and Los Angeles later this month.

Now celebrating its 10 year anniversary, the National Film and Television School Games Design MA is proud to have a game make it to the finals of these prestigious awards for the second time. VR narrative heist/adventure game, CoVRt Operation was one of three games named in the inaugural selection for the Games category in 2021.

The Tornado Outside

Happy is an elephant. But is she also a person? This is the question of the biggest animal rights case of the 21st century. The story of a legal case that asks us to rethink our definition of personhood.

Eros Xavier’s Love Solutions

Synopsis

A 2.5D narrative driven puzzle-like game. Play as Eros, a retired cupid who breaks couples apart instead of bringing them together by manipulating objects in their home. How many hearts can you break?

The winners will be announced at the Yugo BAFTA Student Awards finale ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday 27 July. Our fingers are crossed for the student teams behind The Tornado Outside, Happy and Eros Xavier’s Love Solutions!
