This part-time, six-month online course from the National Film and Television School, explores the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing and streamlining creative practice in film and television - whilst critically examining the responsibilities and challenges that come with its use.

Amazon MGM Studios have partnered with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) to widen access to participation for this certificate, helping more professionals develop the skills needed to navigate the rapidly evolving use of AI across the screen industries.  Through this initiative, Amazon MGM Studios will subsidise course fees by 60% for 20 participants and provide five fully funded places for eligible students, significantly reducing financial barriers to specialist AI training.

Evolving in it’s second year to keep apace of the changing landscapes, the programme explores how Artificial Intelligence can responsibly enhance and streamline creative practice across film and television, giving participants the knowledge to understand when, where and how AI can be used across production.

Delivered part-time, via Zoom on Monday evenings between October 2026 and March 2027, the programme is open to all across the UK, concluding with an in-person showcase in central London in May 2027, where participants will present the findings of their final research project.

Designed for industry professionals and creatives alike, working across all aspects of production, this course will equip each participant to understand and implement streamlined production practices, enhance post, or open up new creative possibilities, whilst exploring beyond technical know-how. It’s about understanding not just how to use AI—but when, why, and with what implications.
