Host of Wins for NFTS Graduates at TV BAFTA Awards

The BAFTA Television Awards took place on Sunday 12 May following the BAFTA Television Craft Awards which were celebrated last month, rounding up a host of wins for National Film and Television School (NFTS) graduates and their productions.

The dedicated Top Boy production team which includes Director Myriam Raja, Editor Matteo Bini and Executive Producer Yann Demange won the award for Drama Series. Eurovision Song Contest 2023 production team which involved Researcher Vicki Swain took home the BAFTA for Live Event Coverage. Ellie Simmonds: Finding my Secret Family, directed by Jasleen Sethi and edited by David Thompson won in the Single Documentary category and White Nanny, Black Child, edited by Ross Leppard was awarded Specialist Factual. Casualty, with a host of graduates on the production team including directors Suri Krishnamma and Vicki Kisner won the BAFTA for Soap.

The craft category successes included Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland, edited by Simon Sykes winning for Editing: Factual and the Slow Horses sound team which included over eight graduates was awarded Sound: Fiction. Stephen Pehrsson took home the BAFTA for Photography and Lighting: Fiction for his work on Black Mirror episode Demon 79.
