Julian Bellamy, MD of ITV Studios Joins National Film and Television School’s Board of Governors

The National Film and Television School is delighted to welcome Julian Bellamy, Managing Director of ITV Studios to its Board of Governors. During a pivotal year for the global content industry, it’s an honour to have our newest member join, who will undoubtedly contribute significantly in shaping the strategic direction of the School throughout 2024 and beyond.

Julian brings a wealth of insightful industry acumen to the board in his role as MD of ITV Studios, a leader in independent production and global distribution. As the largest producer in the UK and a major force in non-scripted programming in the US, the success of ITV Studios stands as testament to Julian's leadership and the company's impact on the international stage.
 

Julian Bellamy joins the National Film and Television School Board.

With production bases in 13 countries and over 60 production labels, ITV Studios Group generates close to 7,000 hours of original programming each year. Notable series include the recently acclaimed drama Mr. Bates Vs The Post Office, My Mum Your Dad, Vigil, Queer Eye, Gomorrah, The Voice, Love Island, and the upcoming Franklin for Apple and Rivals for Disney+.

Julian's career includes roles as Creative Director and Head of Commissioning at Discovery Networks International, where he oversaw production and development across 200 countries. Prior to that, he served as Head of Channel 4 and held pivotal roles as Head of E4 and BBC3 Channel Controller, showcasing his versatility and leadership across various channels.

His journey in the industry began as a current affairs/producer/director, contributing to programmes such as ITV's World in Action and Channel 4's Dispatches.

The NFTS Board of Governors is comprised of senior figures from film, television, games and higher education. Julian will sit alongside BBC's Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore, Sky's Director of Arts and Head of Entertainment, Phil Edgar-Jones, EA's Chief Commercial Officer Scott Forrest and Prime Video/Amazon Studios' Head of UK and Europe Creative EDI Miranda Wayland among a raft of other high-profile members.
