More Than One Story: Hearing The Different Voices Of Young People In World Mental Health Week

Here4You is collaborating with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) to launch a new campaign, More Than One Story, for 16–18-year-olds in World Mental Health Week (11-17 May 2026).

Developed with the support of The Walt Disney Company, the campaign provides young filmmakers the opportunity to develop original work, gain practical creative experience and share stories that reflect issues relevant to themselves and their generation.

Each NFTS filmmaker was invited to create a short film responding to the theme of Hope, acknowledging the individuality of mental health experiences.

To be released across social media platforms during World Mental Health Awareness Week, the four shortlisted NFTS films are designed to meet young adults where they already are - scrolling, sharing, and connecting online. Together, the films offer different perspectives on hope: quiet moments, small shifts, connection, creativity, and resilience. No single story defines hope; instead, the More Than One Story campaign celebrates its many forms.

Each of the filmmakers worked with guidance from The Mix, the UK’s leading digital support service for young people and part of the charity Mental Health Innovations (MHI), whose expertise and community insight helped steer the tone, themes, and safeguarding of the films. Their diverse Youth Voice panel played an active advisory role throughout development—challenging assumptions, shaping narratives, and helping ensure that Hope is portrayed in ways that feel authentic rather than idealised, whilst also ensuring the stories feel honest, relevant, and grounded in what young adults actually want to see and hear when it comes to mental health.

More Than One Story is a powerful reminder that hope can be found in many different places and expressed in many different ways.

The films will be released across The Mix and Here4You social channels.

Speaking on the campaign, Robert Prevezer, Here4You Founder, said:
“Latest NHS statistics show that 75% of adult mental health problems are established by the age of 24, and it is our objective to signpost and offer practical help through our charity partners. Focusing this campaign on giving a voice to stories of Hope will inspire and build a feeling of positivity for young adults” *

Lee Jury, Senior Vice President, Marketing for The Walt Disney Company Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) added:
“For the third year running, Disney is proud to support the Here4You campaign. Helping young people build emotional resilience is incredibly important to us, as is working in partnership with Here4You, The Mix and the National Film and Television School. Students at the NFTS have produced four inspirational short films highlighting the hope that comes in many forms of everyday life. Disney is committed to helping raise awareness and connecting young people and their families with the brilliant charities like The Mix, who offer vital, life changing support when it’s needed most.”

Jon Wardle, Director of the NFTS said; “More Than One Story is a powerful reminder that hope can be found in many different places and expressed in many different ways. We are proud that NFTS filmmakers have brought such creativity, sensitivity and authenticity to this important campaign, using film to amplify young people’s voices and open up conversations around mental health.”
