NFTS Unveils First Ever Blended Learning 'Certificate in Filmmaking' Course
As the film industry begins its recovery from the impact of Covid-19, the NFTS is excited to unveil a brand new six month entry-level NFTS Certificate in Filmmaking, launched in response to the pandemic. With coronavirus fundamentally shifting the way we work and study, the Certificate is the first ever blended learning course delivered by the NFTS, with a total of 48 Zoom webinars, in addition to two practical weekend residentials which will take place at the School in 2021.
The NFTS is world renowned for its specialist MA’s and Diplomas and this brand new course is significant given its more general focus. Taught by senior world class NFTS tutors, the NFTS Certificate in Filmmaking will provide a 360 degree understanding of film production, with insight on Screenwriting, Script Reading, Producing, Directing, Production Design, Cinematography, Production, Sound Recording, Editing, Visual Effects and Distribution and Exhibition.
With more people working from home for the long term, the NFTS Certificate in Filmmaking is aimed at a wide variety of applicants and offers flexibility due to it being part time.
Maybe lockdown has given you the opportunity to re-evaluate your career path, or you are a recent BA graduate wishing to further your knowledge of the filmmaking process. Perhaps you’re an up and coming film-maker with a specialism but have a desire to know more about other departments or it could be you feel the need to have a grass roots knowledge of the industry before feeling confident enough to apply for one of our specialist diplomas or MA’s.
We are looking for applicants who are passionate about filmmaking and eager to explore all possible avenues. You should have a good general education, but no other specific educational requirements are required. As a bonus, those who complete this course and go on to successfully secure a place on an NFTS Diploma or MA, will be refunded half the Certificate course fee upon taking up their place at the School!
