Since it began in 1971, The National Film and Television School has continued to develop some of Britain’s most significant and well known creative visionaries, from directors, producers, screenwriters, model makers, visual effects specialists and composers to behind the camera artists and technicians.

We continually innovate our training curriculum which has been designed with a best practice, industry first ethos. The NFTS has a graduate employment rate of over 90% and as the lifeblood of the screen sector’s workforce, it is at the forefront of providing high profile productions all over the globe with skilled crew. From your first day, you’ll be fully immersed in making content and benefit from mentors, guest speakers and once-in-a-lifetime Masterclasses delivered by a steady stream of acclaimed film, TV and games makers.
We are committed to supporting diversity within the film, television and games industries – nearly half of our MA students are female and a third are ethnically diverse, with a range of scholarships and bursaries available to support new and emerging talent studying with us.
All our MA courses are delivered at Beaconsfield Studios in Buckinghamshire (a short train ride from Central London) and we also have locations across the UK in London’s Soho, Cardiff, Glasgow and Leeds offering a range of online, on-site, and blended diploma and short courses, making it easier than ever to find the perfect course to suit you.

NFTS alumni achieve the highest levels of success in their field, winning Oscars, Emmys and BAFTAs and receiving hundreds of nominations. In 2018, the School was proud to be honoured with a BAFTA for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema and the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education. We love to celebrate the accomplishments of our alumni who achieve success very soon after graduating and go on to become some of the most in demand and well known creative talents on the global stage. The NFTS has been a working film studios for over 100 years, and in 2021 the School celebrated 50 years of its existence at Beaconsfield Studios.
