Course Tutor:
Nicky Huggett is Head of Development at HiddenLight, an independent production company founded in 2020 by Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea, specialising in premium factual programming for an international audience.
She has worked in development for nearly 20 years, across a range of genres and channels, most recently for AppleTV+ and Netflix.
Nicky has also worked as a Documentary Producer, for which she has been nominated for a Broadcast and a Grierson award.
This course will equip you with fool proof methods to come up with ideas for unscripted programmes – and will give vital inside information about what the channels are actually looking for: from the UK networks to the global streaming platforms.
It will help those who want to work in development teams, but also those Producers / Filmmakers who want to get their own ideas commissioned.
It’s designed to build confidence, and will show that it’s not just about blue-sky thinking, but it’s also about developing the right idea for a channel’s brief that will give it a much better chance of ending up onscreen.
