NFTS Scotland: Set Ready: Working in the Make-up Department

Short course

Overview

This course prepares you to work in the Film and TV Make-up department.

This course gives you insights into the roles, principles and practices of this dynamic and creative department.

The course takes any existing make-up knowledge and experience you have and gives you what you need to be ‘Set Ready’ for work specifically in film and TV.

Please note that this is a class-room based course and not a practical Costume Design course.  There is not any designing or making element to the course. It covers script breakdown, the work involved in pre-production and preparing to shoot, how the costume department operates on set, how to enter the Make-up department and the materials and skills you need in the various roles.

Part of the course will also focus on how the make-up department interacts with the costume department.
