Ania Urbanowska is a Polish-born, Edinburgh-based Film Editor whose work spans documentary, fiction and experimental cinema.
Since moving to Scotland in 2006, Ania has earned a First Class Honours degree in Film and Television from Edinburgh College of Art and established a notable career as an Editor. Their credits include award-winning films such as Fashion in the Dark, winner of Best New Fashion Film at Milan’s Fashion Film Festival and Where Are We Now, which received Best Documentary at the Forbes Under 30 Film Festival.
Known for their intuitive sense of narrative rhythm and emotional nuance, Ania is dedicated to creating compelling visual stories that resonate deeply on a human level. Ania's editing style is collaborative and story-driven, carefully attuned to the pace, structure and tone required to reveal the essence of each project. Central to all their work is a commitment to inclusive storytelling, prioritising underrepresented voices to achieve meaningful and impactful narratives.
Beyond their work as an Editor, Ania actively contributes to the creative community as a facilitator and educator. They are also co-director of Media Education, a social enterprise that uses film to empower marginalised voices and inspire social change.
