Asia is a Scotland-based screenwriter and script editor from Cumbria. She was selected as a Channel 4 New Writer on the 2024–25 Cohort, where she developed her writing through 4Skills training and mentorship from Synchronicity. A graduate of Screen Academy Scotland, she has also been shortlisted for opportunities such as the C4 Northern Writers Award, North Star Shorts, and SNL UK Consideration.
Represented by Julia Mills at Berlin Associates, Asia is developing a slate of original scripts that continue to attract industry interest and secure general meetings. As part of the NFTS Sean Connery Talent Lab 2026–27, she is now developing her comedy-drama short film My Child, a project that reflects her distinct voice as a writer, using humour and tenderness to explore what unites people within difficult circumstances. Drawing on her own identity, Asia’s work centres disabled and working-class characters, with a particular focus on women’s stories and complex family dynamics.
Asia also works professionally as a Script Editor in HETV drama and comedy, contributing creatively to exciting projects and forming strong relationships across the industry. With credits including Nightsleeper (BBC), Bad Sisters (Apple TV+), Summerwater (Channel 4), Ann Droid (BBC) and the upcoming Sutherland (BBC).
