Declan Dineen is a writer and director originally from Newport in South Wales, now based in Glasgow. He enjoys big characters and big ideas and works across a broad spectrum of film, TV and audio. Previous credits include BBC radio plays, a sci-fi audio series with an A-list cast, and multiple Lifetime TV movies.
Here is a dispassionate list of some accomplishments: He is a member of BAFTA Connect, he was an inaugural member of BBC Scottish Voices, he is an alum of the EIFF Talent Lab, Talent Lab Connects and Bellrock. In 2023 his TV pilot The Muse was selected for Sky’s Table Reads and performed for an industry audience. He has a BA in English Lit and an MA in TV Writing.
For much needed colour: Declan is a magician, he created and hosted the podcast Checkpoints wherein he interviewed video game luminaries about the games that shaped their life, and in 2013 became worldwide news when he attempted to meet everyone who followed him on twitter. A feat which formed the basis of a sell-out Edinburgh Fringe show and one he is unlikely to attempt again lest he end up in some kind of cult or militia.
