Fin Bain is a writer and director from Glasgow. He studied directing at Screen Academy, where his graduation film Floored won the Scottish Audience Award at the Glasgow Short Film Festival 2023. Floored went on to have its international premiere at British Shorts Berlin and play at both Scotland’s and Portugal’s national mental health festivals.
In 2020 he was selected for The Network with the Edinburgh TV Festival, and in 2021 he worked in scripted development for Synchronicity Films as part of PACT’s Indie Diversity Training Scheme.
He now works for actor’s agency Brennan Artists and with Des Hamilton as a street caster.
Fin is interested in telling stories that explore masculinity, rave culture and social class. He is inspired by the work of Lynne Ramsay, Kieran Hurley, James Price, Alfred Hitchcock and Elia Kazan.
