Fraser Ballantyne profile picture

Fraser is an editor and filmmaker from Glasgow. He has been passionate about cinema from a young age and started making his own films during adolescence. In 2019, he began studying BA Film at Edinburgh Napier University. Throughout his time there, he edited and occasionally directed a number of short films in a range of different genres such as horror, drama, comedy and documentary. His 30 second film that was created as part of the Cinehaiku competition was screened at Cannes Aviff Art Film Festival in France.

Since graduating last year, he has worked as an Assistant Editor on a commercial, a feature length documentary and most recently as a Post-Production Trainee on the HETV series, Outlander. Whilst he prides himself on his technical abilities, it is the creative side of editing that his passion lies in - the process of starting with rushes and working with a director to find the best way to tell a story is what he has always enjoyed most in filmmaking. On the Sean Connery Talent Lab, he looks forward to further developing his skills as an editor and working on a film with a collection of talented people.
