Ian Haig’s role as Head of Department is to bring together dozens of major players from every sector of entertainment to deliver the Creative Business MA. Ian himself has extensive leadership experience having worked as Director of Operations across multiple organisations, including hospitals with nine-figure budgets and thousands of heroic staff. As Project and Programme Director, he has delivered on multi-million-pound acquisition, merger and construction projects and is currently working on the development of a new simulation centre with VR/AR to train clinicians.
Ian is a CIPFA-qualified accountant with a Diploma in Production Accounting. His entrepreneurial experience includes starting new for-profit and not-for-profit organisations from scratch. These include Barts Heritage – a new model for heritage and health at St Bartholomew’s Hospital; Idea Hat – a management consulting and producing business, and Showtime Challenge 48-Hour Musicals – a West End theatre format raising tens of thousands for charity.
Creatively, Ian produced, directed, and wrote the story for the audio drama Getting Better, the Fight for the NHS with Rhod Gilbert, Mark Gatiss and Kathryn Drysdale. He created Do Not Resuscitate, an animation project with Mandip Gill, Kyle Soller and Mark Heap. Ian is proud to play bass trombone with the London Gay Big Band.
