Isabella Bassett (they/them) is a producer based in Glasgow. After cutting their teeth as a theatre producer — including for new-writing company, A Play, a Pie and a Pint where they worked on over 90 World premieres — Isabella began working in film and television. As Development Coordinator for BBC Studios Isabella successfully secured first-time commissions for 25 new writers on the continuing drama River City. Isabella has produced four award-winning short films which have screened at a host of UK and international film festivals.
In 2022, Isabella was selected for and completed GMAC Little Pictures and Short Circuit’s Producer Accelerator programmes. For GMAC Isabella produced BEAR (dir. Kate Hammer) which has screened at several BAFTA-qualifying film festivals and had its International premiere at ReelAbilities festival 2024 in New York. Isabella has recently been selected as one of six LGBTQ+ UK-based filmmakers on the BAFTA x BFI Flare 2024 mentorship scheme.
In 2023, Isabella set up Scottish-based production company Compatible Film & TV. Compatible’s mission is telling unheard and interesting stories with diverse talent. The company currently has several exciting projects in production and development.
