Jack Willison is an RTS-nominated writer/director from the Highlands of Scotland who’s work has featured in Oscar, BAFTA and BIFA qualifying festivals. He specialises in comedy, honing his skills and gaining acclaim at the 48 Hour Film Project. His entry Here Comes the Nun won the top prize at Filmapalooza Seattle 2025 becoming the Global 48 Hour Film Project Grand Champion, beating 5000+ other entries from around the globe to the top spot. This film went on to win Best Scottish Film at the Edinburgh Short Film Festival 2025.
Other notable work includes Volcano Horse Man which was commissioned by BBC Short Stuff and received a RTS nomination. More recently, he had another 48 Hour success with his medieval comedy Piece in Dal Riata which picked up a record 11 awards at the Inverness 48 Hour Film Project including Best Film, Best Writer and Best Director.
Jack’s focus is on creating films that create a moment of joy and laughter in someones day - uplifting audiences with Scottish stories.
