Joséfa is a French writer-director who made Scotland her home a decade ago. She gained acclaim for her Screen Academy Scotland graduation short film Event Horizon, which was nominated for a UniFrance prize, sold for VOD and educational programmes, and has been distributed in French cinemas by l'Agence du Court Métrage since 2017. Following her work commissioned by the Scottish Film Talent Network, Tomorrow Might Be The Day, in 2018, she secured early development funding from SFTN for her debut feature, Aurora’s Skies. Joséfa’s participation in EIFF’s Talent Lab (2018) and Talent Lab Connects (2019) led to her selection for the European development programme Less Is More in 2020. She focuses on crafting coming-of-age narratives and exploring the stories of diverse female characters. Her latest short film, Kings Of The Court (2024), is about to begin its festival journey.
