Kate Phillips has been the BBC’s Chief Content Officer since June 2025, having been at the heart of the corporation’s creative output for more than a decade. Her previous BBC positions include Director of Unscripted and Head of Entertainment, commissioning some of the broadcaster's most popular programmes, including The Wheel, The Traitors and the re-boot of Gladiators

She also created and ran the successful BBC scheme Future Formats, training new talent to develop and pitch TV formats, with many participants going on to build lasting careers in the industry. With more than 20 years’ experience across production, training and commissioning, Kate has established herself as one of the UK’s most influential creative leaders.
