Mark Robinson

Before starting the multi-award winning Wise Owl Films in Leeds in 2018, Mark created Shiver in 2007 - ITV Studios’ first label and the maker of series including Come Dine With Me and Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs. He has worked closely with many of Britain’s best-loved television stars including Peter Kay, David Jason, Amanda Owen, Robson Green and Trevor McDonald.

As a BAFTA and Grierson nominated executive producer, over the last 30 years Mark has looked after around 200 different series and prime-time specials including The 100 Greatests (C4), After They Were Famous (ITV), The Nation’s Favourite (Elvis, Elton John, The Beatles, Queen etc for ITV), The Miners’ Strike and Me (ITV) and Peter Kay: 20 Years of Funny (BBC One). 

Recent output he’s overseen at Wise Owl include The Hacienda: The Club That Shook Britain (BBC Two), When Bob Marley/Nirvana/Tina Turner/Motown/Blondie Came To Britain (BBC Two), Guy Garvey: From The Vaults (Sky Arts), Yorkshire Firefighters (BBC Two), Second Hand For 50 Grand (C4) and The Metro: A Rail Life Story (ITV). Mark also executive produced some of ITV’s output celebrating the life of The Queen, and previously oversaw anniversary events marking 50 years of ITV and Coronation Street.

Mark is a former head of development for Granada Factual North/Yorkshire Tyne Tees Features and has been pitching to commissioning editors across factual and entertainment genres since the late 1990s.
